Nadya Kaneva – “Being able to give is the best thing in life”

Today, I’m once again bringing you an interview with the talented Shumen-based photographer, Nadya Kaneva, whom I had the pleasure of interviewing for www.PoShumenGRAD.com a few months ago. Driven by curiosity about her participation in the “Autumn 2024 Forum” for professional photographers and videographers, which she mentioned in our previous conversation, I contacted Nadya, who joined us directly from the forum.

Hello, Nadya. Thank you for accepting the invitation to this meeting. Tell me more about how the forum is going and what the atmosphere is like?

The excitement of being part of the “Autumn 2024 Forum” is huge! The atmosphere is incredible! It’s inspiring to be in an environment of people who want to develop and reward their skills. Being their lecturer is very significant for me because being able to give is the best thing in life!

What motivated you to accept the organizers’ invitation and share your knowledge in the field of photography with others?

When I entered photography, I noticed a lack of cooperation and a desire to learn from each other. I wanted to change that and help create a community based on support and growth. That’s why I decided to start teaching and sharing my knowledge with other photographers. The positive feedback I receive makes me very happy. A large part of those attending my presentation came to congratulate me, saying “Very valuable lecture!” That is also my goal, to give my best.

There is no doubt about your professional qualities as a photographer, but how did you gain teaching experience and confidence in public speaking?

My journey into teaching began with attending various seminars and workshops where I learned a lot from experienced experts. Over time, I developed my own skills and started conducting individual trainings.

How would you describe the experience of being a lecturer at an international forum and what does this opportunity mean to you?

The experience is incredible. The opportunity to share my experience with fellow photographers from Bulgaria and abroad, as well as to learn from other experts in the industry, is priceless. The invitation to be a lecturer at the “Autumn 2024 Forum” is a great honor and a kind of recognition of my work and dedication to photography.

What else do you need to learn and develop as a photographer and teacher?

My journey towards knowledge and growth as a photographer and teacher will never end. I plan to continue attending seminars, participating in workshops, and connecting with other professionals in the industry. In addition, I always seek feedback from my students to identify areas for improvement and growth.

What advice would you give to aspiring photographers who want to follow in your footsteps?

I would advise aspiring photographers to stay open to new trends and collaboration. Attend seminars, join online communities, and don’t hesitate to seek mentorship from more experienced photographers. As you share your own experience and knowledge, you not only help others but also grow as a photographer.

What’s next for you?

I am extremely happy to share that I have been invited to be a lecturer at international forums and I have a trip to Macedonia for a masterclass coming up. This further confirms my experience and recognition in the field.

That’s great! I hope to see you again after that to hear about it. I wish you success!
