The album “Faces of Shumen” by photographer Nadya Kaneva has sparked thousands of reactions on social media. In 50 frames, she showcased 54 of Shumen’s most successful citizens. Over two weeks, Nadya photographed successful athletes, students, musicians, artists, businesspeople, a military veteran, and three honorary citizens of Shumen. All photos are carefully captioned and provide detailed information about the numerous awards, certificates, medals, and trophies won.
The first models were her acquaintances. However, they suggested who the next participants in the project should be. Each participant in the “Faces of Shumen” album has between 40 and 50 shots taken, from which only one is chosen. Nadya Kaneva’s entire team participated in the selection. The oldest participant in the album is 102-year-old World War II veteran Nikola Penchev.
The euphoria surrounding the “Faces of Shumen” project has continued for days and will likely tempt the lady to continue photographing other successful fellow citizens.
